Green Building in North America
All great progress begins as an idea. The Bullitt Center aims to show what is already possible today and to increase the speed of change in the direction towards more efficient “green buildings”. Intelligent and dynamic sun shading is an important component in this. At the time, the Bullitt Center in Seattle was the first office building in North America to be equipped with an external and completely automated venetian blind system .
The era of harm reduction, half steps and lesser evils is behind us. As a society, we need to be bold in ways that were once unimaginable. Luckily in the building sector, we now can imagine where we need to go. In fact, imagining it is not the only thing we can do. We can touch, experience, learn from and replicate it.One building by itself has zero impact on the world's climate, but a building that is influential and begins to change the way that architects, engineers, contractors, developers and financial institutions shape the built environment, that's a building that was worth constructing.
