Standards in architecture and sustainability
With its striking meandering shape, the HumboldtHafenEins in Berlin is an immediate eye-catcher. And that's a good thing, since the city's new landmark is a role model for sustainabile building. At the Expo Real 2015, the project developer OVG Real Estate received the platinum award from the DGNB for the HumboldtHafenEins, the greenest office building in Berlin. The optimal sun shading system from Warema, which conveniently saves energy and reduces CO2 emissions, is an important element of the sustainable building concept. The building is one of the top ten most sustainable office buildings in Germany. In order to achieve this status, the materials for the project were selected based on durability and low CO2 emissions, among other things. Intelligent technologies regulate the artificial lighting based on the brightness of daylight.
