Peter Faad and Heiko Heitele have opened a very special adventure park southwest of Ulm: M3ELF features adventure golf, an artificial ice rink for curling, boules courts, a putting green/hole-in-one area and much more. A stylish outdoor space serving high-quality cuisine is the perfect place to while away the time.
From the outset, Stefan Rapp (of Rapp Architekten Ulm) and the two owners of M3ELF worked together to plan and design the park. Indoor seating for 120 people covered many hospitality options, including corporate events and weddings. Outdoor seating for up to 150 people was also envisaged.
To optimise this space, they opted for partial roofing with the Lamaxa roof system by WAREMA. Offering shading and perfect protection against wind and weather, the system ensures significantly greater use of the outdoor space for gastronomic purposes practically all year round.
The modular Lamaxa star system positioned at the front of the angular building spans an area of 108 square metres. Slender supports with elegant vertical crossbeams blend in perfectly with the building’s architecture.
Large glazed areas are surrounded by delicate wooden supports with parapet walls that emphasise the flat horizontal sections of the structure. The Lamaxa star system is aligned with the wooden supports, meaning that the slat roof is offset from the structure to create elegant visual axes and paths.
Outdoor facilities up and running, building under management, foundations cored for the supports: Seeger, the specialist foremen company from Nattheim, worked closely with the Warema HoReCa project team to organise perfect installation conditions beforehand. Four slat roof areas were seamlessly combined to create a group unit of 9 by 12 metres in a week-long installation process.
In an optical and construction highlight, the centre poles – as with all Lamaxa group units – have the same slender dimensions as the outer supports.
The Lamaxa L50 has been realised with pivotable slats and all-round side screens with easyZIP guidance for perfect wind and weather protection. Direct and indirect lighting with LED strips in the crossbeams maintains a cosy atmosphere into the evening. Designer radiant heaters keep the temperature pleasant on cooler days.
The system is easily operated via a WMS hand-held transmitter or smartphone. The WMS Weather station plus detects precipitation, wind speed, brightness and icy conditions and ensures that the slat roof automatically closes when it rains, for example.
The installation of a high-grade sun shading and weather protection system is often indispensable when making the best possible use of open spaces. Find out which solutions are particularly suitable here and get in touch with our experts.
