In the Hohenlohe industrial park, located in close proximity to the company's headquarters, Würth has erected a new distribution centre. After just under two years of construction, the warehouse was placed into service in May 2020. With this logistics strategy, the company aims to prevent delivery splits and consolidate items on an order-for-order basis so that the customer receives exactly one shipment. To achieve this goal, the new distribution centre comprises various dispatch points and an external warehouse. According to the company, it serves as a staging area and hub for handling and consolidating flows of goods for further distribution throughout Europe.

Wings Professional Project planned and installed a total of 460 large slats as a movable sun shading system along the entire south facade of the new building. Made of rib mesh, these large red slats function as an impressive facade element and smart sun shading system in one, as the intelligent sun shading control provides a perfectly comfortable indoor climate all year long.
